I linked to a site about the 5 best new " gadgets" for 2008. One that was interesting was called the Peek. Less pricey and complicated than a blackberry. It does one thing and one thing only: e-mail. This little device gives portable access to e-mail but without the hefty fee. Monthly service costs about $20 for unlimited access to your messages. It is not a phone, though.
The other 4 gadgets mentioned were :
